Yes, there will be much speculation to what this truly means. Yes, we are still at risk and possibly more now that Bin Laden will probably be viewed as a martyr. But right now, he's dead. That is all we can say with a degree of certainty.

Where the hell were the police?
As everyone knows by now, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was subjected to an attempted assassination attempt this afternoon in Tuscon. The subject of Congressional security is now being brought up--again. My question is this: where were the police? I admit that the info I have on the subject is limited to whatever a few media outlets can provide, but none seem to indicate that any police were present during Rep. Giffords open gathering with her constituents. Is there a reason why local police couldn't be on hand for a member of Congress who had previously been subjected to threats and office attacks because of her political leanings?
